Right now I am just trying to get the information out to the web and have not formulated the process for correcting errors yet. I want to keep it as much like the 1850 Deane Porch annotated book as possible but yet I am willing to add comments such as yours, if they can be substantiated by primary sources. Otherwise the files will become hopelessly diluted by more mistakes than the census taker, transcriber, annotator and I have already injected. I am sure you have already seen many family trees for the same family on Web sites such as Ancestry with conflicting information. I would really like to avoid adding to this mess.

I hope to eventually have an automated form for Surname addtions, but in the meantime, please follow the instructions below.

 If you would like provide corrections or additional information about an LCT family, send an email to the List Manager.  Please place '1850 LCT Correction' in subject for faster response. It is IMPORTANT to include LCT somewhere in your email as I have other area genealogies on the web and am sometimes confused when I receive an email as to which locality the person is talking about. Include the following information:

  - Your email address

  - Researcher name

  - Correct/Additional information.

  - Please be sure that the ancestor with the surname(s) you want added actually resided in the Lincoln County, TN area.

If at all possible, PLEASE provide sources for dates and events or send a scan of a primary source document such as a marriage certificate supporting the changes you wish to have made. Please help keep this site as a place for legitimate leads for LCT genealogists as opposed to a site that contains erroneous information due to lack of sources. Thank you.
