Goodspeed Biography - Marshall Co., TN
In 1861 William volunteered in Company I, Thirty-second Tennessee Infantry &
remained in that company till 1864. He then joined Gen. Forrest's command, &
served till the surrender at Gainsville, AL, a period of over 3.5 years.
He was imprisoned seven months at Camp Morton in Lafayette, IN, and was
was exchanged at Vicksburg.
